Heart-warming Chili

Chili is one of the best and easiest things to prepare. Whether you are a vegetarian or not, this meal is packed full of protein and is a delicious winter meal on those less-than-appetizing arctic temperature days. With very few ingredients, its a tummy AND wallet pleaser. This is my personal recipe, but feel free to mess around with the ingredients according to taste. For a vegetarian meal, substitute the ground meat for more beans, diced celery and carrots or tofu.

The Hungry Students One Pot Chili

1 can mixed beans

1 can crushed tomatos

1 sausage cooked and sliced

1/2 pound ground pork

1 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp hot sauce

1 onion

3 cloves garlic

1tsp vinegar

1tsp worshistire

5 tbsp oil
Heat the olive oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat, and cook the ground pork until evenly browned.
Stir the onions and garlic into the skillet, and cook in the pork juices over medium heat until tender. Mix in the beans, onion and optional ingredients at this point . Cook and stir until tender and heated through.
Mix in the crushed ingredients and all seasonings.  Reduce heat, and simmer about 45 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
